Crow poseMy journey towards the path of yoga began in 2004, when I attended Elita Salgado’s class for the first time with my mother and her friends. It wasn’t love at first practice but I found myself coming back for more and eventually becoming a regular student. And whenever Elita was unavailable, I’d go to Sandy Carmona’s classes in Makati.

After two years of practicing, I moved to another country for a job, which disrupted the regularity of my practice. Still, I did what I could despite the lack of access to English classes. I practiced on my own or got together with like-minded yogis in that country. It was upon my return to the Philippines in 2009 that I seriously considered teaching yoga. Life and work got in the way, however, and that goal took a backseat. I continued my search for fantastic teachers to learn from and eventually found them. My dream of becoming a yoga teacher was realized in 2012 when I trained to under Bliss Yoga Manila’s Roland dela Cruz and Isabel Dulay. It was a decision that changed my life.

Now, I am teaching yoga full-time and still accepting freelance writing and consulting assignments. I continue to learn from my fellow teachers and my students, whose dedication to the practice never fails to inspire me. I found my bliss and wish to share what I learned with anyone who’s seeking a more peaceful existence, a stronger body and a calmer mind.

This blog is my way of communicating with anyone who is curious about yoga, wants to deepen their practice or have been called to teach. I have other interests, too, such as current events and the arts, so I might be writing about subjects not directly related to yoga every now and then.
